  • How can HACCP, ISO 22000, SQF or BRC certification grow my business?

    Having a HACCP, ISO 22000, SQF or BRC Food Safety Management can impact your businesses growth in a number of ways. Most importantly, it allows you to access customers that require either food safety standard as a minimum requirement do business with them, for example, retailers such as Woolworths, Coles, Foodland or for export. 



    Beyond accessing more potential buyers, achieving HACCP, ISO 22000, SQF or BRC certification demonstrates that your business takes its food safety seriously, provides a competitive advantage in your marketplace and gives you peace of mind that you won’t make consumer sick.  


  • What is the difference between HACCP, ISO 22000, SQF or BRC certification?

    HACCP, ISO 22000, SQF or BRC are only a small number of food safety standards available, but all are a set of criteria required to produce food safety.   


    HACCP is the fundamental code that all other standards are built on; it takes a risk-based approach to food safety, it is not as prescriptive as the other standards. HACCP is the best place to start when building a food safety.


    All other standards include more stringent requirements in addition to including a management system framework such as management review, setting objectives, food safety policy and often have elements of quality built-in. 


    Your customer will often specify which standard they will accept. If you are still not sure, speak to us, and we will guide you to determine which standard is right for you.


  • How can I best prepare for an external certification audit?

    Preparing for an audit can be stressful, and we have many tips on preparing, but here are our top three. 

    1. Ensure your documentation complies with the standard(s) – say what you do to meet these requirements.

    2. Do what you say – keep records or other evidence to demonstrate you are doing what you say you will do.

    3. Implement the system so it becomes part of your day to day business. It is stressful to rush around just before your audit, trying to fix up any gaps. 


    Our consultants are external auditors themselves and will provide clarity and assurance in the steps required to make sure you pass the upcoming audit with flying colours and no stress.   

  • Is achieving ISO 22000 or HACCPcertification hard?

    Yes, if it weren’t, everyone would have it, but it is worth it, so we make it easy for you.

    Our consultants are based in Adelaide however we routinely travel to other states around Australia to visit clients, handle audits and deliver training.


  • Can you do our external audit too?

    No.


    It is a conflict of interest for consultants or anyone who has had input into your HACCP Plan or Food Safety System to deliver external certification audits. 


    You need to contact an accredited certification body for external audits.
